Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If symptomatic, move to fresh air.  Treat symptomatically.

Get medical attention if symptoms persist.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Any material that is in the eye should be washed out

immediately with water.  Get medical attention if symptoms

occur.

Emergency measure - Skin: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of

soap and water.  Get medical attention if symptoms appear.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: In case of fire, use appropriate agent for adjacent fire.

Hazchem code 2Z.  Powdered material may form explosive

dust-air mixtures.  Fire or high temperatures may cause

decomposition.

Product arising from burning: Hazardous decomposition will produce oxides of nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective

clothing (Hazchem code 2Z).

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect up and put into a suitable container.  Avoid

generation of dust.  Clean surface thoroughly to remove

residual contamination.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of dust.  Avoid

contact with eyes, and prolonged or repeated contact with

skin.  Use with adequate ventilation.  Wash thoroughly after

handling.  Wear safety glasses with side shields or goggles.

Wear impervious gloves and protective clothing appropriate

for the risk of exposure.  Use only in well ventilated

areas.

Storage: Keep away from sources of ignition.  Keep from contact with

strong oxidizing materials.  Keep away from heat.  Keep

container closed.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be imported into the Harrow company plant

sites in sealed, poly-lined fiber containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: High temperatures (>354 C) will cause decomposition.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported

Dust explosion: Powdered material may form explosive dust-air mixtures.

Minimize dust generation and accumulation.  Use only in well

ventilated areas.  Keep away from sources of ignition.  Keep

from contact with oxidizing materials.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not practical to recover or recycle the substance.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: It is not practical to neutralize the substance.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: A temperature of 1000 degrees C is expected to be sufficient

to destroy the substance. Recommended method of disposal at

a suitable facility. Waste gas scrubbing to remove oxides of

nitrogen shouls be used.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Based on water solubility, vapor pressure estimate, and the

assumption of no biodegradability, computer model

(SIMPLETREAT) program predicts 95% removal in water

purification plants.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable. The substance will not enter the public

domain.
