Details on results:
The water solubility of disilver(I)carbonate is 63 +/- 3mg/L.

The pH levels of aqueous solutions of disilver(I)carbonate were relatively constant throughout the test period (pH 8.1-8.5) and for the blank samples a range from 5.4 to 6.0 was observed. For all blanks silver levels were below the limit of detection (< 0.01 -0.13 mg/L Ag).

For the samples from the flask with disilver(I)carbonate constant values for the silver concentrations were detected at all sampling points (variation well below the limit of 15% allowed by the test guideline). In consequence, the equilibration times used were long enough according to the test guideline.

For the calculation of the water solubility of disilver(I)carbonate the mean Ag concentration calculated from the last two samplings (168h, 192h) was applied.

Mean silver concentration (168h-/192h-samplings, n=8) = 49.7 +/- 2.2mg/L.

Therefore the water solubility of disilver(I)carbonate is calculated as follows:

49.7 +/- 2.2 mg/L * 275.72 g/mol (Ag2CO3) / ( 2 * 107.87 g/mol (Ag)) = 63.5 +/- 2.8 mg/L (63.46 +/- 2.76 mg/L)

Conclusions:
Interpretation of results: slightly soluble (0.1-100 mg/L)
Under the conditions of this test according to OECD guideline 105, the water solubility of disilver(I)carbonate at 20.0 +/-0.5°C over a period of up to 8 days is determined as 63 +/- 3 mg/L.
