Description of key information
The acute toxicity to Daphnia for the registered substance was 0.32 mg/l
To cover for vertebrate teting (fish) and prolonged toxicity to Daphnia similar substances have been assessed and to help confirm similiarities in properties, the acute Daphnia for these are also described;
C12-Dimethyldodecylamine = EC50 0.083
Formaldehyde, reaction products with ethylenediamine = EC50 40 mg/l
Formaldehyde, reaction products with ethylenediamine is considered to be sufficiently similar to help in the weight of evidence approach to environmental fate and effects to cover certain enpoints. However, it is noted that this si significantly less hazardous than the substance to be registered and is not a suitable surrogate for the Daphnia reproduction assay.
This endpoint is included for information purposes only; C12-Dimethyldodecylamine is considered to be more reliable for assessment of prolonged effects on Daphnia.
