Description of key information

ErC50 72h Desmodesmus subspicatus  > 100 mg/l loading rate and EyC50 72h Desmodesmus subspicatus  > 100 mg/l loading rate (Note: concentration as loading rate before 96h stirring followed by filtration and this solution was inoculated with algal medium. The geometric mean between the measured concentrations at t= 0h and at t= 72h was 2.5 mg/l . This value confirms the low solubility of test item in the algal medium).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
100 mg/L

Additional information

Tetraphosphorus trisulphide was tested for growth inhibition on algae Desmodesmus subspicatus. The test was performed according to OECD TG 201 and the result was EC50 growth rate 72h Desmodesmus subspicatus  > 100 mg/l loading rate ( concentration as loading rate before 96h stirring followed by filtration and this solution was inoculated with algal medium. The geometric mean between the measured concentrations at t= 0h and at t= 72h was 2.5 mg/l . This value confirms the low solubility of test item in the algal medium).
