Description of key information

No sediment toxicity studies were available with tin bis(2-ethylhexanoate).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex X, the toxicity to sediment organisms study (required in Section 9.5.1) is not required since one of the dissociation components of tin bis(2-ethylhexanoate), namely 2-ethylhexanoic acid, has a log Kow which is < 3. Additionally, the tin component of tin bis(2-ethylhexanoate) is not expected to affect sediment organisms, as it will likely form a particulate in the aquatic environment that is not bioavailable to those sediment organisms.
