Experimental data are available for the toxicity of dodecane-1 -thiol to three trophic levels: fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae. The toxicity of dodecane-1 -thiol to micro-organisms has been read across from tert-dodecanethiol. The following sections detail the robust summaries prepared for these substances and any justifications for waiving the endpoints in the appropriate sections. The results indicate that algae would be the most sensitive trophic level, with a NOEC of 14.5 µg/L. The algae data would result in dodecane-1 -thiol being classified as very toxic to the environment (acute category 1 under CLP and R50 under DSD), with the hazard phrase "very toxic to aquatic life".
