Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The vapour pressure of 1-dodecanethiol has been determined to be 1.2 Pa at 25 °C. The vapour pressure was determined in a GLP-compliant, experimental study (Harlan 2011), using the vapour pressure balance method designed to be compatible with Method A4 Vapour Pressure of Commission regular (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008. The study is considered reliable and suitable for use for this endpoint.

The IPCS International Chemical Safety Certificate includes a vapor pressure for dodecane-1-thiol of 0.33 kPa at 25˚C. No information on the primary source of these data or the methods used is available. However, this information is taken from an internationally peer-reviewed chemical safety card and can be considered reliable and suitable for use for this endpoint.

The data generated by QSAR give a similar value of 1.14 Pa.
