Results and discussion

Any other information on results incl. tables

Study reported:

Styrene oxide: mutagenic to S typhimurium strains TA1535 and TA100 (with and without metabolic activation); toxic to all tested strains of Salmonella typhimurium at concentration of 10-4moles/plate.

Styrene: equivocal results for mutagenicity, not dose-response effect; toxic to all tested strains of Salmonella typhimurium at concentration of 10-5moles/plate and above.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Styrene provided equivocal results for mutagenicity in the tested systems.
