Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Propargyl alcohol has a melting range from -52 to -48 °C at ambient pressure.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-52 °C

Additional information

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. HSDB reports the melting range to be -52 to -48 °C at 1013 hPa. REAXYS reports the melting point to be 51.8 °C and in a second source -48 °C at 1013 hPa. The GESTIS database reports the melting point to be -48°C at 1013 hPa. Four independent literature sources report the melting point of propargyl alcohol in the same range. Thus, a melting range of -52 to -48°C at 1013 hPa which represent the median of all values was chosen as key value
