Additional information

Several values for the log Kow of CTC in the range from 2.03 to 3.04 are reported in the literature. The highest reliability of 2 in the Klimisch scale is to be granted to the two peer reviewed experimental Handbook data being 2.64 and 2.83, the former used for the CRC handbook, which can according to ECHA guidance be regarded as peer reviewed, and the latter originally reported from Hansch et al (1995) and used for the training set of the validated QSAR software KOWWIN™ from the U.S. EPA EPI suite 4.0 package.

A further experimental value of 2.75 (Huels 1989) fit in the same range, while other sources referenced in the IUCLID 4 file state 2.6. This lowest value keeps unassessed because of its unclear origin (experimental or calculated) and the lacking relevance for the assessment.

A review of the existing values is listed in LOGKOW(c) databank offered by Dr J. Sangster, under the auspices of the Canadian National Committee for CODATA. This review can be found on http://logkow.cisti.nrc.ca/logkow/. The recommended value is logKow = 2.83 based on shake flask experiments by Hansch & Leo.
