The aquatic bioaccumulation of triethyl citrate was predicted by means of the computer program BCFBAF v3.01 (by US-EPA) using two different models. The regression-based estimate (traditional method) resulted in a bioconcentration factor (BCF) of 2.75 L/kg wet-wt and also the Arnot-Gobas method (based on mechanistic first principles) resulted in a low BCF of 2.475 L/kg wet-wt. The substance specific LogPow is taken into account for these predictions.

Terrestrial bioaccumulation of the substance is not a relevant endpoint of a registration under REACH at a tonnage band of 100 - 1000 tonnes.
