According to the regulation (REACH Annex VII Section 8.3 Column 2) tin tetrachloride does not have to be examined for skin sensitizing properities due to its strong acidic pH. Nevertheless, tests on skin sensitization with dilutions of tin tetrachloride (5%) did not indicate a sensitizing potential for tin tetrachloride (Larsson et al 1990).
