Additional information

A number of published values are available for the upper and lower flammability of 2 -(2 -butoxyethoxy)ethanol. No single source was indentified as robust so a weight of evidence approach has been adopted. The values for the lower limit cover a narrow range of values but are sufficiently different in combination with the UEL to suggest that they originate from different sources. The key parameter is based on an average of the quoted values to a rounded value. Which of the UEL figures is correct is less clear. As a conservative approach the highest value is selected, leading to a flammability range taken as 1.5 - 22.7%. This information combined with the data on the flash point/vapour pressure lead to the conclusion for the key parameter.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Does not meet criteria for flammability.
