Description of key information
The experimental results for the water solubility of 44PD are not well detailed. Therefore the water solubility was calculated. Two independent models were used to calculate the water solubility of 44PD (CAS nr 101-96-2). The results of the different models are very similar, the model based on the Kow value and the molecular weight predicts a water solubility of 34.9 mg/L. The other model is based on a fragment constant approach for the chemical structure predicts a water solubility of 32.1 mg/L.
Both models are equally valid and give very similar results, therefore it is concluded that the water solubility equals 33 mg/L.

Two experimental results are available on the water solubility, both are based on rudimentary handbook data without any detail on the underlying data. One study states that the compound is insoluble, without further definition and the other states that the solubility is less than 10 mg/L water.
Based on two independent modelling approaches the water solubility was estimated to be ca 33 mg/L. Therefore it is concluded that the compound is slightly soluble, which is in reasonable agreement with the experimental result of <10 mg/L.
