In a guideline study following OECD guideline 226 the toxicity of Tricolan to Hypoaspis aculeifer was tested. The mites were exposed to the substance that was mixed into artificial soil for 14 days. Mortality and reproduction rate of mites wer recorded. Based on survival and reproduction a NOEC of 1.96 mg/kg soil were recorded. The EC50 for reproduction was 52.3 mg/kg soil (Ciba Inc. 2010).
