Potassium sorbate is readily biodegradable. Its most sensitive ecotoxicological endpoint relevant for classification is clearly above 1 mg/L. Consequently, the substance does not need to be classified according to 1272/2008, neither for acute nor for chronic aquatic toxicity. According t o 67/548, there is also no need for classification.
