PACT - Public Activities Coordination Tool

The public activities coordination tool (PACT) provides an overview of the substance-specific activities that authorities are working on under REACH and the CLP Regulation. These activities are being carried out in line with ECHA’s Integrated Regulatory Strategy.

PACT provides up-to-date information on the activities planned, ongoing or completed by ECHA and/or MSCAs for a given substance in the following areas:

  • Data generation and assessment – dossier evaluation, substance evaluation, informal hazard assessment (PBT/vPvB/ED).
  • Assessment of regulatory needs (ARN).
  • Regulatory risk management – harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) , SVHC identification, recommendations for inclusion in the Authorisation List, restriction.

A summary of all the substance-specific activities can be found under ‘Details’ for each entry.

Remarks
This ED assessment case pertains to the SEV case.

Nonylphenol, branched, ethoxylated (EC No 500-315-8, NPEO) has already been identified as SVHC due to its endocrine disrupting properties (Article 57(f) - environment) because it can degrade to 4-nonylphenol, branched which has already been identified as an SVHC due to environmental due to its endocrine disrupting properties.

According to the SEv conclusion, the potential for constituents of the registered substance to cause endocrine disruption themselves in aquatic organisms has not been clarified. More data would be required to clarify the potential for ED-mediated adverse population-relevant effects in fish for NPEO.The eMSCA decided that it would be disproportionate to request such a test from the two Registrants under these circumstances. If new uses or registrations occur in future, the substance may need to be put on the CoRAP again to clarify the endocrine disruption concern of the constituents.
