Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

INHALATION

If inhaled, move person into fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Consult a physician.

SKIN CONTACT

Remove contaminated clothing/shoes. Wash off with soap and plenty of water. Consult a physician if symptoms occur.

EYE CONTACT

If easy to do, remove contact lenses if worn. Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical attention.

INGESTION

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water. Conuslt a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

-Suitable extinguishing media:

Use water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide as appropriate for surrounding fire and materials.

- Unsuitable extinguishing media:

No limitations given for this substance.

SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE

Combustible, but not flammable. In case of fire toxic fumes of carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides may be emitted.

No explosivity or flammability data identified. In general, high concentrations of finely divided airborne organic particles can potentially explode if ignited

ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS

In case of fire in the surroundings: use the appropriate extinguishing agent. Wear full protective clothing and an approved, positive pressure, self-contained breathing apparatus. Decontaminate all equipment after use.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

Use recommended personal protective equipment during removal of spillages.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS

Do not let the substance enter into drains. Avoid release to the environment.

METHODS AND MATERIAL FOR CONTAINMENT AND CLEANING UP

Moisten the powder spill with water prior to sweeping up. Keep in closed container and hold for waste disposal . Ventilate area and spill site with water after the pickup is completed.

Handling and storage

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING

Avoid breathing dust and contact with eyes and skin. Handle in well-ventilated areas. Use recommended personal protective equipment. Wash thoroughly after hanadling.

CONDITIONS FOR SAFE STORAGE, INCLUDING ANY INCOMPATIBILITES

Store at regular indoor conditions, generally 15-25C. Keep container tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

CONTROL PARAMETERS

To the best of our knowledge, established occupational exposure limit value is not available.

EXPOSURE CONTROL

-Appropriate engineering controls

Use appropriate controls (e.g. containment local exhaust ventilation) as specified in a workplace risk assessment. Technical measures and appropriate operations should be given priority over the use of personal protective equipment. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

- Personal protective equipment

Eye face protection: Wear safety glasses with side shields. An emergency eyewash station should be available.

Skin protection: Handle with gloves. The selected gloves must comply with the specifications in EC Directive 89/686/EEC and the related standard EN374 or applicalbe federal, state and national legislation.

Protective clothing: Use impervious, disposable clothing to prevent skin contact. The type should be selected according to concentrations, quantities and duration of handling at the specific workplace.

Respiratory protection: Required when dusts are generated. Where risk assessment shows that an air-purifying respirator is appropriate, use filter of type P3 (EN143) or N100 (NIOSH) or types recommended in applicable federal, state and national legislation.

- Environmental exposure controls

 Do not empty into drains.

- Other protective measures

Wash hands in the event of contact with this substance, especially before eating, drinking and smoking. Protective equipment is not to be worn outside the work area (e.g. in common areas or out-of-doors). Decontaminate all protective equipment following use.

Stability and reactivity

REACTIVITY

No known reactivity hazards under normal conditions.

CHEMICAL STABILTIY

The substance is chemically stable at standard room temperature conditions, generally 15 to 25C.

POSSIBILITY OF HAZARDOUS REACTIONS AND CONDITIONS TO AVOID

None known.

INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS

Oxidants.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS

Carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Disposal considerations

Avoid dust generation and inhalation of dust. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and other mucous membranes. Do not ingest. Wear all recommended personal protective equipment. Wash thoroughly after handling. Dispose waste at authorized plant, in accordance with applicable national, federal, state or local legislation. Disposal could be sent for external waste handling company for incineration. Do not empty into drains or water courses.
