T002102 could not be ignited with a flame during the preliminary test (contact time of about 2 minutes). In contact with the ignition source, T002102 carbonized. The test item did not melt. There was no smoke or soot observed, therefore no main test was performed.
A negative result was obtained. No spontaneous ignition occurred and no exothermic effect of the test item was observed. It demonstrated that the test item is “not a self-heating substance”. According to the UN guideline, no further testing is required.
After the experiment, the consistency of the sample was unchanged, i.e. no reaction and/or decomposition of the test item was observed.
Description of key information
The flammability potential of the substance was determined in a GLP study according to test method EC A.10. Based on the criteria as outlined in the OECD Guideline, T002102 is not a "highly flammable" substance.
Furthermore, the substance is not considered to be pyrophoric or emit flammable gases in contact with water. Based on a GLP study according to the test method UN N.4 (K1, Reingruber, 2016), the test item was determined to be not a self-heating substance.

The flammability test was carried out under GLP conditions and according to the EC method A.10 without modifications, so therefore a Klimisch score 1 was assigned (reliable without restrictions). T002102 could not be ignited with a flame during the preliminary test (contact time of about 2 minutes). In contact with the ignition source, T002102 carbonized. The test item did not melt and there was no smoke or soot observed. The results from the A.10 test method indicate that a classification as a flammable solid does not apply (result: not highly flammable), therefore no more testing is necessary.
Justification for classification or non-classification
T002102 is not ''highly flammable'' according to the criteria as described in the guidance and therefore classification as flammable solid does not apply. The substance is also considered to be not pyrophoric or emit flammable gases in contact with water. Based on the negative outcome of the UN N.4 test, the substance is also determined to be not self-heating based on the criteria described in the guidance.
