Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The potential for bioaccumulation of the substance is low - estimated BCF 11.12 L/kg ww.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
11.12 L/kg ww

Additional information

Based on the MHHPA log Pow of 2.59 there is no indication for bioaccumulation properties. The BCF of the substance was estimated based on the results of the read across apporach with the structural analogue 4-MHHPA resulting in a value of 11.12 L/kg wwt and logBCF of 1.05. As the substance is rapidly hydrolysed to the corresponding dicarboxylic acid, the BCF of the hydrolysis product was calculated. The potential of bioaccumulation of the di-carboxylic acid degradation product is low, resulting in a BCF of 3.16 L/kg wwt and logBCF of 0.50. The potential of MHHPA bioaccumulation was considered to be low.
