Description of key information

Disilver oxide is a black-brown, odourless powder. Disilver oxide is produced and marketed in powder form with variable particle size distribution. The particle size of two representative sample of disilver oxide powders are between 3.9 and 18 µm (D50). Disilver oxide is slightly soluble in water (1.6 mg/L at 20°C).

The substance does not have a melting point, as it decomposes upon heating. The decomposition temperatures is between 230°C and 300°C. The density of disilver oxide is in the range of 7.14 to 7.2 (bulk density 950 kg/m³). Furthermore, disilver oxide require classification according to the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods as oxidising solids category 1.
