First-aid measures

DESCRIPTION OF FIRST AID MEASURES

- General information: Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.

- After inhalation: Supply fresh air and seek medical treatment in case of complaints.

- After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.

- After eye contact: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Protect unharmed eye. Call a doctor immediately.

- After swallowing: If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Drink plenty of water and provide fresh air. Call for a doctor immediately.

- Information for doctor: Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

- Suitable extinguishing agents: The product is not flammable. Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions.

SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE

- In case of fire, the following can be released: Hydrogen chloride (HCl)

ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS

- Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.

- Additional information: Dispose of fire debris and contaminated fire-fighting water in accordance with official regulations.

- Prevent formation of dust and provide suction extractors if dust is formed and work only in a fume cupboard. Any unavoidable deposit of dust much be regularly removed.

EXPOSURE CONTROLS AND PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

- General protective and hygienic measures: Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed and immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin and use skin protection cream for skin protection.

- Respiratory protection: Not necessary if room is well-ventilated. If additional respiratory protection required, use respiratory with filter type P.

- Protection of hands: Protective gloves

- Butyl rubber (BR), Nitrile rubber (NBR), Fluorocarbon rubber (Vitron), Natural rubber (NR) and Chloroprene rubber (CR). Penetration time of glove material - Value for the permeation: Level ≥ 120 min. (EN 374). The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

- Eye protection: Safety glasses with side shields or goggles. Eye protection must be consistent with EN166.

- Body protection: Protective work clothing.

Stability and reactivity

- Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: No decomposition if used and stored according to specifications.

- Possibility of hazardous reactions: Reacts with strong alkali

- Conditions to avoid: Protect from humidity and water

- Incompatible materials: Strong oxidising agents.

- Hazardous decomposition products: Under the influence of heat: vapours of hydrochloric acid.

Disposal considerations

WASTE TREATMENT METHODS

- Recommendation: Contact manufacturer for recycling information. Disposal must be made according to official regulations.

- Uncleaned packaging recommendation: Non contaminated packaging may be recycled. Packaging that may not be cleaned is to be disposed of in the same manner as the product.
