Description of key information
Appearance:
Based on physical observation, N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide is concluded to be appear in solid powder form having light brown color.
Melting point:
Melting point of N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide is concluded to be in the range of 81 to 84 Deg C.
From the other authorative database melting point of N-[3 -(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide is estimated to be in the range of 77 to 79 Deg C.
Boiling Point:
Boiling point of N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide is concluded to be 285 Deg C.
Density:
Density of N-[3 -(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide is determined to be 1.105 g/cm3 at 20 Deg C. From the other authorative database it is concluded that density of N-[3 -(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide 1.065 g/cm3.
Particle size distribution:
The particle size distribution of N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide was determined by granulometric analysis with rotap sieve shaker. The particle size distribution was determined to be in the range of 150 micron to 53 micron.
Vapour pressure:
Modified Grain method was used to estimate the vapour pressure of N-[3 -(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide using MPBPVP v1.43 of EPI SUITE.
The estimated vapour pressure of N-[3 -(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide at 25 deg C was 0.000683 Pa.
Partition coefficient
The partition coefficient (log Pow) value of the substance N-[3-(diethylamino)phenyl]acetamide was estimated to be 2.26.
Water solubility:
Water solubility of N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide is concluded to be 700 mg/L at temperature 20 Deg C.
From the above result it is concluded that N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide is moderately soluble (100-1000 mg/L) in water.
Surface tension:
Surface tension of N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide is estimated from authorative databases to be 0.0419 N/m.
Flash point:
Flash point of N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide is concluded from above reliable database to be 190 Deg C. Other authorative datbase concluded the flash point of N-[3 -(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide to be 187 Deg C.
Auto flammability:
N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27°Cpressure of 966 hPa. This indicates that N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide is not auto-flammable.
Flammability:
N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide does not indicate any ignition when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of approximately 950°C is brought in contact with it. Thus it can be concluded that N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide is not flammable at high temperature. However since such high temperatures are not found under normal circumstances of transportation and use, thus N-[3-(diethylamino) phenyl] acetamide was considered non-flammable for chemical safety assessment.
Explosiveness:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties.
Oxidizing properties:
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied.
