Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A saturated test solution with the concentration of 111.2 mg/L (calculated on the basis of TOC-analysis) had no adverse effects on the mobility of Daphnia within 48 hours.

Additional information

"Should read: > 100 mg/L"

Since the substance is extremely hydrolytically unstable, the solution is assumed to contain entirely the hydrolysis product hexanoic acid (CAS 142 -62 -1). The organic carbon concentration of the test solution was analyzed with a TOC analyzer at the start of exposure and 48 hours thereafter. The substance concentration was calculated on the basis of the molecular formula. The mean concentration was calculated with 111.2 mg/L as hexanoic acid (CAS 142 -62 -1). Since the substance was fully soluble, the nominal concentration of 100 mg/L was used further for interpretation.
