Administrative data

First-aid measures

General information: In the even doubt of or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person or in case of cramping.

After inhalation: Move affected person to fresh air in case of inhalation. Keep person warm and at rest. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. In case of unconsciousness bring person in recovery position and seek medical advice.

After skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing immediately. Wash off with plenty of water and soap. Do not wash off with solvents/dilutions.

After eye contact: Rinse eye with eyelids open immediately with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes. Consult an eye specialist. Protect unaffected eye.

After swallowing: Rinse out mouth with plenty of water (if the affected person is conscious) and summon a doctor immediately. DO NOT induce vomiting. Keep person at rest.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing agents: Alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide (CO2), fire-extinguishing powder, water haze

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Fire may produce toxic gases. In flames and at hot surfaces toxic and purgent-smelling decomposition products may be generated.

Advice for firefighters: Protective equipment: In case of fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information: Cool endangered containers with water. Do not release contaminated fire extinguishing water into drains or surface waters.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Eliminate all ignition sources. Ensure adequate ventilation. In case of exposure to vapour, dust or aerosols wear respiratory protection.

Environmental precautions:
Do not allow to enter sewers, surface or ground water. Do not allow to enter soil. Inform the relevant authorities in case of a gas leak or if the substance/mixture has caused environmental pollution (surface/ground water, soil or sewer system) .

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders). Collect in suitable, closed containers for disposal. Clean contaminated objects and areas thoroughly observing the environmental regulations. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:
In case of open handling use local exhaust ventilation, if possible. When handling the chemicals observe the usual precautionary measures. Keep away from heat sources (e.g. hot surfaces, sparks and open flames). Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Ensure grounding of containers, pumps and exhaust systems. In case of exposure to vapour, dust or aerosols wear breathing apparatus. Equip the workplace with eye wash bottles and personal showers. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. During work do not eat, drink or smoke. Comply with the protection and safety regulations.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Store in tightly closed container in a well ventilated area. Containers, which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent any leakage. Keep container dry and sealed. Store container protected from sunlight.

Storage class (TRGS 510): 3

Store in original container protected from heat and direct sunlight. Observe label instructions. Keep away from ignition sources – No smoking.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters
Components with workplace control parameters: Data on occupational exposure limits according to RCP-Method on basis of TRG 900 (D): not relevant.

Personal protective equipment:
Eye/face protection: Safety glasses with side protection.

Skin protection: Handle with protective gloves. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation. Avoid contact with skin or mucous membrane. After washing hands the use of fatty skin ointment is recommended.
Body Protection: Use adequate skin protection agents before starting work. Wear chemical resistant clothing.

Respiratory protection: If use of extractor systems is not possible during handling the chemical, wear protective breathing equipment. Use breathing apparatus with independent air supply (isolated, self-contained) (DIN EN 133).

General protective and hygienic measures: The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when using the chemical. When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. At the end of the shift or before breaks, hands and face should be wash, showering if applicable.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No data available.

Chemical stability: The substance is chemically stable when stored and handled according to instructions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: May form explosive peroxides.

Conditions to avoid: The substance is chemically stable when stored and handled according to instructions. Do not store at temperatures above 40°C.

Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizing agents.

Hazardous decomposition products: Thermal decomposition may release irritating gases and vapours.

Disposal considerations

Do not allow to enter surface/ ground water or sewers. Disposal must be made according to official regulations.

Waste treatment methods:
Disposal of the product/ the packaging: Completely empty packaging can be reused after cleaning. Contaminated packaging is to be treated in the same way as the substance.
