Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Qualifier:
no guideline available
Principles of method if other than guideline:
A largely standardized, water -toxicological procedure for testing the effect of potential
pollutants on the ability of Daphnia magna Straus to swim is reported with regard to methodology, application, evaluation and results. The standardized test strain IRCHA served as the test organism. The stock cultures were fed with standardized dry algae, and the pollutants
were tested in a chemically and physically defined, standardized culture medium ("artificial fresh water"). In evaluating the test results, the EC 50 values of the tested pollutants were determined using standardized mathematical methods.
GLP compliance:
no
Test organisms (species):
Daphnia magna
Test type:
static
Water media type:
freshwater
Total exposure duration:
24 h
