First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures- General information:Symptoms of poisoning may even occur after several hours; therefore medical observation for at least 48 hours after the accident. Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product. In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (if possible, show this MSDS). Personal protection for the First Aider.- After inhalation:Supply fresh air and to be sure call for a doctor. If breathing stops, provide artificial respiration. In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation.- After skin contact: Clean with water and soap. If possible, also wash with polyethylene glycol 400. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.Seek immediate medical advice.- After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult a doctor. Protect unharmed eye .Remove contact lenses.- After swallowing: Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. Never give anything to the mouth of an unconscious person. Administer medicinal carbon. A person vomiting while laying on their back should be turned onto their side.Call for a doctor immediately. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayedBreathing difficultyHeadacheSpasmsGastric or intestinal disordersCyanosisMethaemoglobinaemiacardiovascular disorders Information for doctor: No specific therapy is known.Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:In cases of irritation to the lungs, initial treatment with Dexamethason metered aerosol.Symptomatic treatment (decontamination, vital functions).

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing mediaSuitable extinguishing agents:Carbon dioxideFire-extinguishing powderFoamFor safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Direct jet waterSpecial hazards arising from the substance or mixtureDuring heating or in case of fire poisonous gases are produced. In case of fire, the following can be released:Nitrogen oxides (NOx)Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxideAdvice for firefighters· Protective equipment:Do not inhale explosion gases or combustion gases. Wear fully protective suit.Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.· Additional information: Cool endangered receptacles with water spray. Heating leads to increased pressure and danger of bursting and explosion. Dispose of fire debris and contaminated fire fighting water in accordance with official regulations.Collect contaminated fire fighting water separately. It must not enter the sewage system.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency proceduresWear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.Ensure adequate ventilation.Use respiratory protective device against the effects of fumes/dust/aerosol.Avoid contact with any productEnvironmental precautions:Avoid release to the environment.Prevent from spreading (e.g. by damming-in or oil barriers).Keep contaminated washing water and dispose of appropriately.Do not allow product to reach sewage system or any water course.Inform respective authorities in case of seepage into water course or sewage system. In case of seepage into the ground inform responsible authorities.Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust).Take up mechanically and collect in suitable container (adequately labelled) for disposal.Ensure adequate ventilation.Dispose contaminated material as waste according to item in section ' Disposal consideration'.Reference to other sectionsSee section 'Handling and storage' for information on safe handling.See section 'Exposure controls/personal protection' for information on personal protection equipment.See section 'Disposal considerations' for disposal information.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handlingKeep receptacles tightly sealed.Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.Prevent formation of aerosols.Take note of emission threshold.Use closeable conveyance devices.Restrict the quantity stored at the work place.Wear suitable respiratory protective device when aerosols are formed.· Information about fire - and explosion protection:Normal measures for preventive fire protection. When heatet the product forms flammable fumes.Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilitiesStorage:· Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles:Provide floor trough without outlet.Prevent any seepage into the ground.Store at room temperature.· Information about storage in one common storage facility:Store away from feed and foodstuffs.Store away from oxidising agents.- Further information about storage conditions:Keep container tightly sealed.Protect from heat and direct sunlight.Store receptacle in a well ventilated area.Protect from exposure to the light.Avoid contact with air / oxygen.Store under lock and key and with access restricted to technical experts or their assistants only.- Storage class:6.1C - Combustible substances of acute toxicity, category 3 / hazardous substances that are toxic or producechronic effectsSpecific end use(s) No further relevant information available.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Additional information about design of technical facilities: No further data; see section ' Handling and storage'.Control parameters· Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace: Not required.· Additional information: The lists valid during the making were used as basis.Exposure controls- Personal protective equipment:- General protective and hygienic measures:Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed.Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin. Do not inhale gases / fumes / aerosols. Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing. Ensure that washing facilities are available at the work place. Provide eye bath- Respiratory protection:If vapours or aerosols occur wear suitable respiratory device. In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device. Short term filter device. Filter A.- Protection of hands:Chemicals resistant gloves. The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradationSoftening of the callus when wearing air-impermeable gloves is possible.Check protective gloves prior to each use for their proper condition. If only a short-term loading of the glove material by splashes is expected, tricoted gloves with higher wearability for the better acceptance of the users are recommended. After use of gloves apply skin-cleaning agents and skin cosmetics. After each cleaning use treatment creams, for very dry skin greasy ointments.- Material of glovesButyl rubber, BRFluorocarbon rubber (Viton)Recommended thickness of the material: ≥ 0.7 mmThe selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.- Penetration time of glove materialBreakthrough time ≥  8 hThe exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.- Eye protection:Sealed safety glasses.-Body protection:Protective work clothing: Boots, ApronSelection of protective clothing is subject to the specific kind of work and the corresponding risk potential.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity No further relevant information available.Chemical stability- Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided:No decomposition if used and stored according to specifications. To avoid thermal decomposition do not overheat.Possibility of hazardous reactionsCan form explosive mixtures in air if heated above flash point and/or when sprayed or atomised. Reacts with strong acids and oxidising agents. With nitrosing agents, nitrous acid, nitrites forming of nitrosamines possible.Conditions to avoid No further relevant information available.Incompatible materials: No further relevant information available.Hazardous decomposition products: If stored and handled properly: none known.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods- RecommendationMust not be disposed together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage system.Disposal must be made according to official regulations.- European waste catalogue16 00 00 WASTES NOT OTHERWISE SPECIFIED IN THE LIST16 03 00 off-specification batches and unused products16 03 05* organic wastes containing dangerous substancesUncleaned packaging:- Recommendation: Disposal must be made according to official regulations.
