The partition coefficient of the substance glycerol tristearate (CAS 555-43-1) was determined with HPLC according to OECD Guideline 117. The partition coefficient (log Pow > 10 and log Pow =24) determined by QSAR calculation (KOWWIN v1.68 and Epiwin v3.11) are supporting since due to the fact that this substance is long chain fatty acid ester which exceeds the applicability domain of KOWWIN the value for log Pow is reported with restrictions and therefore the partition coefficient of the substance is deduced to be > 10.
