First-aid measures

DESCRIPTION OF FIRST AID MEASURES

- After inhalation: Supply fresh air and seek medical treatment in case of complaints.

- After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.

- After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult a doctor.

- After swallowing: If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Drink plenty of water and provide fresh air. Call for a doctor immediately.

- Information for doctor: Treat symptomatically.

- Suitable extinguishing agents: Carbon dioxide, Water spray, Fire-extinguishing powder and Foam.

SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE

- In case of fire, the following can be released: Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide and toxic metal oxide smoke

- Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace: The product does not contain any relevant quantities of materials with critical values that have to be monitored at the workplace.

EXPOSURE CONTROLS AND PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

- General protective and hygienic measures: Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and food. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.

- Respiratory protection: Not necessary if room is well-ventilated, but use suitable respiratory protective device when high concentrations are present.

- Recommended filter device for short term use: Filter P2 and Filter FFP2.

- Protection of hands: Protective gloves – Butyl rubber (BR), Nitrile rubber (NBR). Penetration time of glove material - Value for the permeation: Level ≥ 480 min. (EN 374). The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

- Eye protection: Safety glasses

- Body protection: Protective work clothing

Stability and reactivity

- Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: No decomposition if used and stored according to specifications.

- Possibility of hazardous reactions: Reacts with strong alkali.

- Conditions to avoid: No further relevant information available.

- Incompatible materials: Alkali (lyes), concentrated. Strong oxidising agents.

- Hazardous decomposition products: In case of heat, the following can be released: Vapour of acetic acid

Disposal considerations

WASTE TREATMENT METHODS

- Recommendation: Contact manufacturer for recycling information. Disposal must be made according to official regulations.

- Uncleaned packaging recommendation: Empty contaminated packaging thoroughly. They may be recycled after thorough and proper cleaning. Packaging that may not be cleaned is to be disposed of in the same manner as the product.
