Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Readily biodegradable: 64% (BOD) in 28 days, 10-day window could not be determined (OECD TG 301D)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

One ready biodegradability test (Grade, 1991, reliability 1) is available for Linalool, therefore this is the key study. The result of this test was 64.2% biodegradation in 28 days (OECD TG 301 D). The total number and spacing of measuring points did not allow a determination of the 10-day window. However, the degradation started immediately and the curve was steep. Linalool was found to be readily biodegradable in this test.
