Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Immediately transport to hospital; Remove person to fresh air; If breathing is difficult give oxygen

Skin contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water; Take off immediately all contaminated clothes; Take medical advice

Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 min.; Take medical advice

Ingestion: Immediately transport to hospital

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder or appropriate foam, water spray.

Special risks: In case of fire poisonous and explosive fumes may arise

Personnel protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothes.

Accidental release measures

Environmental protection: Hold off from drain system, water and soil.

Personnel protection: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus (Filter A, colour brown) and chemical protective clothes, rubber boots and heavy

rubber gloves

Cleaning: Soak up any spillage using absorbent material and dispose of in UN approved chemically resistant containers

Handling and storage

Handling: Only be handled in closed environments (e.g. Glove-Box); All working and chemical handling areas should have washing facilities and eye wash stations clearly marked; Emergency showers must be located nearby.

Storage: At min -25°C, to prevent polymerisation on storage; Store in an secure area with access only for designated persons with appropriate training; Where possible store in the original container which was supplied; keep all

storage containers securely closed

Exposure controls / personal protection

Technical protection: The work space and any chemical handling areas must be equipped with suitable ventilation facilities, This is especially important if elevated temperatures are used because of the increased vapour pressure. Any ventilated or extracted air must be processed and purified before being discharged away to the environment in full accordance with any prevailing national regulations on emission limits.

Respiratory protection: In exceptional cases (e.g. in the instance of accidental spillage) it is necessary to put on respiratory protection; For short duration exposure if a breathing mask is to be worn Gas Filter A (Brown) should be used.

Eye protection: Wearing a full face mask is recommended to prevent damage to the eyes by exposure to vapour or aerosols

Hand protection: Use chemical resistant gloves. The integrity of the glove material and the glove fit should both be checked for suitability before use Body protection: Wear either a well fitting long apron together with chemically protective boots, or a chemical protective suit, before use depending on the quantity to be used and the length of possible exposure time

Stability and reactivity

Stability: Stable at storage conditions -25°C

Substances to be avoided: Strong Bases / Acids and Oxidisers

Hazardous decomposition Products: Toxic fumes of Carbon oxides

More information: Store at –25°C (min) and before opening the storage containers allow to warm up to ambient temperature.

After use fill the container headspace with Argon, close and refreeze immediately

Disposal considerations

Dissolve or mix the material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber; Consider all federal, state and local environmental regulations
