Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Take person out of the contaminated area. Remove patient to
fresh air. If patient has difficulty breathing, call a
doctor.
Emergency measure - Eyes: In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty
of water and seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash in soap and water and rinse with water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical advice.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry powder, foam, carbon dioxide may be used.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may include oxides or carbon and
nitrogen.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face
protection.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable personal protective equipment (gloves,
glasses, and where appropriate suitable respiratory
equipment).
Recovery:
Sweep the floor to avoid spilling.
Collect spillages.
Collect the product in a container pending future
destruction.
Disposal:
Use authorised discharge or burn in approved installation.
Do not discharge in sewers.
Consult local waste disposal authorities.
Handling and storage
Handling: When handling the substance wear suitable gloves, glasses
and in case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable
respiratory equipment.
Storage: Keep container dry.
Keep in a cool place.
Keep in tightly closed containers.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 15 - 20 kg 3 ply block ended paper sacks fitted with a

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: None reported.
Chemical reaction with water: None reported.
Dust explosion: Not determined.
As the substance is an organic powder, there is potential
for dust explosivity, especially when in a micronised form.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: If spilled substance is considered to be uncontaminated, it
can be recovered for use in the use process.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Incineration is recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not appropriate.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: This is the preferred method of disposal. (Code 660)
Flue gas scrubbing is recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable as test substance will not enter the public
domain.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable
