Description of key information
Estimated value with EPIWIN using the formula of the nickel free substance. The model KOWWIN included in the Estimation Program Interface (EPI) Suite v4.11 revealed a value of - 2.63 of the substance. The predicted value can be considered reliable yielding a useful result for further assessment.

Additional information
The substance is highly insoluble in water and is also not soluble in organic solvents, e.g. DMSO, DMF, n-Octanol, THF etc.. Therefore, according to REACH annex VII column 2, an experimental study can be waived but a calculated value should be provided. However, a calculated value for the Nickel complex cannot be estimated as the available tools, eg. EPIWIN are not useful: The relevant training set does not contain organometallic complexes and therefore estmated values are not valid. Nevertheless, using the formula of the complex not containing nickel (5,5'-azobis-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrione), a logKow of -2.63 is achieved.
