Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The quantity of 99.9 ± 0.0% of all particles based on minimum external dimensions (Q0 Feret min) and 100 ± 0.1% of all particles with an ECD (equivalent circle diameter; Q0 ECD) are between 1nm and 100nm via electron microscopy of GELBPIGMENT E4GN.

Additional information

Method 1: According to OECD guideline 110, the particle size distribution of Nickel, 5,5'-azobis-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrione complexes was determined by scanning electron microscopy method for the sieved fraction (< 100 µm, 3.08 % of total sample) and presented on the basis of calculated mass fractions. The median diameter was 14.65 µm with the main fraction of 74.93 % distribution in the range 10 - 100 µm; and hence the tested Nickel, 5,5'-azobis-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrione complexes particles with sieved size smaller than 100 µm are mainly dominated by inhalable fraction as defined in EN 481.

Method 2: The particle size distribution was determined by Image Analysis in accordance with the Council Regulation (EC JRC73260, nanomaterial). The test method is in all essential parts identical with the OECD Guideline, Test no. 110, method B. The quantity of 99.9 ± 0.0% of all particles based on minimum external dimensions (Q0 Feret min) and 100 ± 0.1% of all particles with an ECD (equivalent circle diameter; Q0 ECD) are between 1nm and 100nm.
