Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General information

Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately

After inhalation

When inhaled remove to fresh air and seek medical aid.

After contact with skin

In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with soap and water

Summon a doctor immediately.

After contact with eyes

In case of contact with eyes rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical advice

After ingestion

Summon a doctor immediately.

Advice to doctor

Treatment

Rinse the affected eye with edible vegetable oil.

Wash the affected skin alternately with edible vegetable oil and with soap.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media

foam

water spray jet

carbon dioxide

dry powder

Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons

strong water jet

Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours

In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO)

Nitrous gases (NOx)

Special protective equipment for firefighting

Use self-contained breathing apparatus

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions

Wear suitable personal protective equipment.

Environmental precautions

Do not allow to enter drains or waterways

Methods for cleaning up/taking up

Pick up with binding agent (eg sand, sawdust). Rinse away rest with plenty of water or dilute

acetic acid

Do not use chemical binders containing acids

Handling and storage

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling

Open and handle container with care.

Use only in well ventilated areas.

Advice on storage compatibility

Do not store with acids

Further information on storage conditions

Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place, open and handle carefully. - frost-sensitive - if the product becomes turbid as a result of exposure to low temperatures, warm it slowly to approx. 50°C and stir it. Before using the product, ensure that is is completely homogeneous.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Occupational exposure controls

General protective measures

Avoid contact with eyes and skin

Hygiene measures

Observe the usual precautions when handling chemicals.

Respiratory protection :

Use respiratory protection in case of insufficient exhaust ventilation or prolonged exposure Full mask to standard DIN EN 136

Filter A (organic gases and vapours) to standard DIN EN 141 The use of filter apparatus presupposes that the environment atmosphere contains at least 17% oxygen by volume, and does not exceed the maximum gas concentration, usually 0.5% by volume. Relevant guidelines to be considered include EN 136/141/143/371/372 as well as other national regulations.

Observe applicable relevant national regulations,(e.g. TRGS 900 and BGR 190 in Germany).Take note of the recommendedations regarding the duration for which Respiratory Protective Equipment may be worn, according to chapter 19 Abs. 5 GefStoffV in conjunction with the rules of wearing such equipment.

Hand protection:

For long-term exposure:

Butyl rubber gloves.

Minimum thickness (glove): not determined

Chemical resistant gloves according to category III of DIN EN 374

With solid dry substances permeation is not to be expected,

therefore the breakthrough-time for this protective glove has

not been measured.

For short-term exposure (splash protection):

Nitrile rubber gloves.

Minimum thickness (glove): not determined

With solid dry substances permeation is not to be expected, therefore the breakthrough-time for this protective glove has not been measured. These types of protective gloves are offered by various manufacturers. Please note the manufacturers´ detailed statements, especially about the minimum thickness and the minimum breakthrough time. Consider also the particular working conditions under which the gloves are being used.

Eye protection:

Depending on the risk, wear sufficient eye protection (safety glasses with side protection or goggles, and if necessary, face shield.)

Body protection : For details, see the BG-Information number 595.

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition : (Heating rate : 3 K/min)

Method : DTA

Source : Analogy

No decomposition upto 400 °C.

Hazardous reactions

Reactions with acids.

Hazardous decomposition products

Nitrous oxides (NOx)

Conditions to avoid

Avoid contact with strong acids.

Disposal considerations

Product

In accordance with local authority regulations, take to special waste incineration or chemical/physical treatment plant
