Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

BASF AG (2001) studied the effects of short-term exposure of Daphnia magna to 2-ethylhexyl acrylate according to OECD Guideline 202. The test was performed in a static and closed system. Six test concentrations ranging nominally from 3.13 mg/L to 100 mg/L were employed. The effect values were related to measured concentrations and are given as follows: EC50 = 1.3 mg/L; EC0 = 0.7 mg/L.

The other available tests were conducted without analytical monitoring and in open test systems. The volatility of 2 -EHA was not taken into consideration. Thus, these tests are not regarded valid for hazard assessment purposes.

In addition, a robust data set of acute studies is available from the other members of the acrylic ester category (methyl, ethyl, n-butyl, and tert-butyl acrylate).
