The substance was not readily biodegradable and was poorly degraded in water.

Additional information

Following a weight of evidence approach, PACM (4,4'-methylenebis(cyclohexylamine)) was shown to be poorly degraded in water. The substance is not readily biodegradable. The conclusion is based on the following data:

- BASF AG (1986). OECD 302B (inherent biodegradability), industrial activated sludge: < 10% after 28 d, poorly eliminated from water

- BIOWIN v4.10 (EPI Suite v4.10; 2011): overall conclusion on six modules: not readily biodegradable

- CATALOGIC v5.11.6TB BOD 28 days MITI (OECD 301C) v06.07: unable to mineralise, not readily biodegradable.

Two experimental results are available for a structurally similar substance: DMDC, 2,2'-dimethyl-4,4'-methylenebis(cyclohexylamine) (CAS 6864 -37 -5).

- MITI (1992). Report no. 2 -56. OECD 301C (ready biodegradability), mixed inoculum according to MITI: 0% after 28 d, not readily biodegradable

- BASF AG (1990). Report no. 89/2152. OECD 302B, industrial activated sludge, adapted: < 1% after 28 d: poorly eliminated from water
