Description of key information

The inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced in appropriate low concentrations.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Two guideline studies investigating changes in the respiration rate of activated sludge in presence of the test substance are available. The studies were set up according to OECD guideline 209 with domestic activated sludge as inoculum. The respiration rate was not affected after 30 minutes exposure up to a substance concentration of 1000 mg/l.
