Conclusion on classification

Acute classification

The existing acute data [48 h EC50 Daphnia (6.7 mg/L); 72h ErC50 algae (5.6 mg/L)]. From an OECD 236 study and read cross results it is known that fish are least sensitive. As all effect values are above 1 mg/L, there is no acute classification for this substance.

Chronic classification

1,1,3,3-Tetramethylbutyl hydroperoxide is not readily biodegradable, and the measured log Kow is 2.9. The lowest chronic endpoint available is 21d EC10 for Daphnia reproduction (0.37 mg/L). When chronic data for less than 3 trophic levels are available the classification is assessed using both the existing chronic and acute data, and the most stringent outcome is chosen.
