Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation: Supply fresh air. If required, provide artificial respiration. Keep patient warm. Consult doctor if symptoms persist. Seek immediate medical advice.
Skin contact: Instantly wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. Seek immediate medical advice.
Eye contact: Check for and remove any contact lenses. Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult the doctor.
Ingestion: Get medical attention if needed. If vomiting occurs, keep head lower than hips to prevent aspiration.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing agents: Use fire measures that suit the environment.
Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Person-related safety precautions: Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Measures for the environmental protection: Do not allow material to be released to the environment without proper governmental permits.
Measures for cleaning/collecting: Dispose of contaminated materials as waste according to local/national regulations for proper disposal. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Handling and storage
Safe handling: Keep containers tightly sealed. Store in cool, dry place in tightly closed containers. Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.
Protection against explosion and fires: The product is non-flammable.
Storage: Do not store together with oxidizing and acidic materials. Keep containers tightly sealed. Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed containers.

Exposure controls / personal protection
During cleaning and maintenance the worker will need to wear PPE (dust mask, coveralls, gloves and safety goggles).
Stability and reactivity
Not applicable.
Disposal considerations
No waste of the substance, except dust can be captured by the general ventilation. This is collected and provided to a waste treatment company. Ammonia is formed during the first reduction step only. Ammonia is removed from the reduction gas by washwater. The waste water is treated in the on-site waste water treatment plant.
