Description of key information
The inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when the target substance MCHAmix (EC 943 -5175 -5) is introduced in appropriately low concentrations.

There are no experimental data on the acute toxicity of the reaction product of 2,4-Dinitrotoluene and 2.6-Dinitrotoluene and hydrogen, deaminated (MCHAmix, EC 943-517-5) to aquatic microorganism. Therefore read-across approach was applied to the structurally similar substance 2,6-dimethylcyclohexylamine (CAS 6850-63-1).
Two studies are available for the source substance. One study was conducted according the German Industrial Standard DIN38412, part 8 with Pseudomonas putida. The 17-h EC10 value was 138 mg/L, the 17 -h EC50 was 188 mg/L (BASF AG, 1987, Rep.no.: 9/00306/87).
The supporting study was performed according to ISO 8192. Industrial activated sludge was used as an inoculum. The 30-min EC20 value was above 659 mg/L (BASF AG, 1987, Rep.no.: 01.269/87).
It can be concluded that the inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when the target substance MCHAmix (EC 943 -5175 -5) is introduced in appropriate low concentrations.
