Administrative data

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

The results of a study with a structurally related chelate (DTPA-FeHNa) are in compliance with studies with other metal chelates (see also read across document in section 13).

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

Based on the knowledge that all known respiratory sensitizers tested have also tested positive in a skin sensitization test, it is not expected that DTPA-FeHNa or DTPA-Fe(NH4)2 would show respiratory sensitizing properties.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results of the LLNA with DTPA-FeHNa, no classification needed for skin sensitizing properties of DTPA-Fe(NH4)2.
