Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In the vapor phase, an atmospheric half-life of 105 min is predicted for ENB due to oxidation by photochemically produced hydroxy radicals. Half-life in the atmosphere due to reaction with ozone is predicted to be 26 min.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

AOPWIN software v1.92a calculates the hydroxyl radical rate constant for ENB to be 147E-12 cm³/(molecule*sec). This corresponds to a half-life of 0.073 days based on a 12 -hr day and a hydroxyl radical concentration of 1.5E6 OH/cm3 (ie 0.87 hrs). For the O3 radical the rate constant is 6.3E-16 cm3/molecule-sec and the half-life is 0.018 days (at 7E11 mol/cm3).
