Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice :
Move out of dangerous area.
Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
If inhaled : Move to fresh air.
Keep patient warm and at rest.
Keep respiratory tract clear.
If unconscious place in recovery position and seek medical advice.
Call a physician or poison control centre immediately.
In case of skin contact : Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.
Wash off with soap and plenty of water.
Immediate medical treatment is necessary as untreated
wounds from corrosion of the skin heal slowly and with
difficulty.
In case of eye contact : In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty
of water and seek medical advice.
Remove contact lenses.
Protect unharmed eye.
Keep eye wide open while rinsing.
Continue rinsing eyes during transport to hospital.
Small amounts splashed into eyes can cause irreversible
tissue damage and blindness.
If swallowed :
Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water.
Do not give milk or alcoholic beverages.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Do NOT induce vomiting.
Take victim immediately to hospital.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media :
Alcohol-resistant foam
Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Dry chemical
Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local
circumstances and the surrounding environment.
Special protective equipment for firefighters:
In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Further information : Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately.
This must not be discharged into drains.
Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
Use water spray to cool unopened containers.
Accidental release measures
Evacuate personnel to safe areas.
Use personal protective equipment.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Remove all sources of ignition.
Beware of vapours accumulating to form explosive concentrations. Vapours can accumulate in low areas.
Environmental precautions:
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.
Prevent product from entering drains
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Neutralise with acid.
Contain spillage, and then collect with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth,
diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal according to local / national
regulations.
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling :
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
To avoid spills during handling keep bottle on a metal tray.
Container may be opened only under exhaust ventilation hood.
Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion:
Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.
Take necessary action to avoid static electricity discharge.
Avoid formation of aerosol
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Requirements for storage areas and containers:
Store in cool place.
No smoking.
Keep container tightly closed and dry.
Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.
Electrical installations / working materials must comply with the technological safety standards.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Personal protective equipment:
Respiratory protection : In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter.
Hand protection :
Glove material: butyl-rubber
Break through time: 240 min
Glove thickness: 0,5 mm
Consider the hazard characteristics of this product and any special workplace conditions when selecting the appropriate type of protective gloves.
Eye protection :
Safety glasses with side-shields
Wear face-shield and protective suit for abnormal processing problems.
Skin and body protection : Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.
Hygiene measures : Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.
Stability and reactivity
No hazards to be specially mentioned.
Chemical stability:
Stable under recommended storage conditions.
Possibility of hazardous reactions:
Conditions to avoid:
Heat, flames and sparks.
Incompatible materials:
Acids
Acid anhydrides
Acid chlorides
Strong oxidizing agents
Hazardous decomposition products: nitrogen oxides (NOx)
