Ágh, 2010, was selected as the key study for this endpoint. The study was conducted according to the OECD 201 Guideline and under GLP conditions using the prefered model (Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata), exposure duration (72 hours) and test medium (freshwater). The study reported a 72 hour EC50 of 25.94 mg/l extrapolated from the observed results, and a 72 hour EC50 of >4.48 mg/l based upon the observations within the test.Erickson & Hawkins, 1980, is presented as supporting information only. It reported a NOEC of 2.0 mg/l (the highest concentration tested) and no effects on algae were observed during the study.
Ágh, 2010, was selected as the key study due to the reliability, age and
test methodology, test species and test duration used. No deviations
from the test guideline were reported in the study report and the
reporting was considered to be of sufficient detail to allow comparison
to other substances.
Erickson & Hawkins, 1980, was conducted using a novel methodology and
gave limited information on test parameters. it was therefore awarded
the reliability score of 4 as there was insufficient information to
allow for assessment of reliability. This study was therefore included
as supporting information only.
