Description of key information
The key study (Steinberg et al, 1987) was conducted in a similar manner to the OECD 307 guideline (Aerobic and Anaerobic Transformation in Soil). The registered substance reached 90% degradation at 4 days and >90% degradation at day 22.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
Additional information
Steinberg et al, 1987, was selected as the key study as it was the most recent and reliable study available. The study was conducted in a similar way to the OECD 307 guideline (Aerobic and Anaerobic Transformation in Soil). The study reported degradation values of 90% at 4 days and >90% at 22 days.
Aelion et al, 1987, Pignatello, 1986, Weintraub et al, 1986 and Wilson et al, 1986, are presented as supporting information only.
Pignatello, 1986, Weintraub et al, 1986 and Wilson et al, 1986, were allocated reliability scores of 2 according to the criteria of Klimisch et al, 1997, based upon the level of detail reported. Aelion et al, 1987, was awarded the reliability score of 4 (according to the Klimisch criteria) as insufficient data was presented for assessment of reliability.
