Administrative data
First-aid measures
If breathing is irregular or stopped, give artificial
respiration. If the victim is unconcious, place in the
recovery position and obtain immediate medical attention.
Give nothing by mouth.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate copiously with clean fresh water for at least 10
minutes, holding the eyelids apart and seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin
thoroughly with soap and water or use use a recognised skin
cleanser.
Do NOT use solvents or thinners.
If irritation develops, seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If accidentally swallowed obtain immediate medical
attention. Keep at rest.
Do NOT induce vomiting.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Fire-fighting measures
Do not use waterjet.
Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in
a fire. Likely thermal decomposition products are oxides of
carbon and soot.

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.
Fight the fire from a safe distance or protected location.
Accidental release measures
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to
the relevant national or international standards. Ventilate
the spillage area and avoid breathing vapours.
Remove sources of ignition, do not turn lights or
unprotected electrical material on or off.
Contain and absorb spilled substance with a suitable non-
combustible absorbent material (e.g. sand or soil). Place in
closed containers in a suitable location and dispose of in
accordance with local regulations. Containers filled with
waste material must be labeled in the same way as the
original substance containers.
Clean the spillage area preferably with a detergent. Do not
use solvents.
In case of a major spillage in a confined space, evacuate
the area and check that solvent vapour levels are below the
lower explosive limit before re-entering.
Do not allow spills to enter drains or watercourses. If
drains, sewers, streams, lakes or rivers are contaminated,
inform the appropriate authority immediately.
Handling and storage
used under conditions of good industrial hygiene and in
conformity with any local regulations in order to avoid
exposure by professionals handling the substance.
All operators should wear full PPE (gloves, boilersuit and
eye protection).
Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows;
Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374
Chemical protective clothing to Standard EN368
Eye protection to Standard EN166.
Furthermore, respiratory and breathing protective equipment
should be used due to the isocyanate content of the paint.
This respiratory protection must be capable of adequately
controlling exposure, be suitable for the purpose and
conform to the appropriate international or national
standards.
These measures should be regarded as a minimum.
Storage: Store at ambient temperature in well-ventilated condition.
Always keep containers away from heat, sparks and flames. It
is recommended to protect fork-lift trucks and electrical
equipment to applicable standards.
Always keep containers tightly closed when not in use.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Substance:
Rectangular cans, 1 US gallon or 1 US quart, screw top.
Paint preparation:
Unlined round cans, 1 US gallon or 1 US quart, triple-tight,
lever lid.
Both substance and paint packaging is cartoned.
Where limited quantity rules are not applicable, cartons or
cans are UN certified, otherwise limited quantity exception
rules are followed.

Transport: The substance PMP is flammable for transport and so will be
transported in appropriate tankers or UN Certified
packaging:
UN 1263 (Paint or Paint related material).
Class 3, Packing Group III.
The paint preparation is hazardous for transport. Therefore,
the transport of the substance will be undertaken in
suitable UN packagings and in conformity with any local and
national regulations:
UN 1263 (Paint or Paint related material).
Class 3, Packing Group II or III (depending on the
particular product).
Avoid crushing the containers. In the event of a spillage,
observe the warning labels on the container.

Stability and reactivity
Chemical reaction with water: None known.
Dust explosion: This material does not present a dust explosion hazard as
the substance is liquid.

Disposal considerations
Wherever possible dirty solvent (notified substance) is
laundered and returned to site for reuse. Dirty solvents are
reused on site for the washing of the plant. Finally any
solvent which can no longer be reused is sent off-site where
it is used as a fuel source in the manufacture of cement.
Paint preparation:
Any recovery or recycling of the substance from use is not
possible, as paint products are two pack paints (base and
curing agent) and once these two are mixed, the paint will
harden. Remaining PMP will then be trapped in the solid
making recovery impossible.
In the case of a spillage, material will be recovered and
reused where possible. However, this is not practical when
paint is contaminated with absorbing material.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Paint products are two pack paints. Mixing the base and
curing agent will cause paint to harden, trapping materials
within the paint film.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Hardened paint in solid form left in containers and
particles of dried paint created during the spraying process
will be recovered.
Both recovered dry spray and tins with dried paint will be
disposed of in accordance with local regulation, typically
by landfill.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is not used as a disposal method, as any part-
used cans of mixed paint will dry to leave a solid mass
which is fixed in the can. Incineration is therefore not
practical.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Care should be taken to avoid the material from entering the
water course.
The substance should not normally be discharged directly to
the sewage system or the aqueous environment. However,
adverse effects on sewage treatment systems would be
unlikely.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.
