First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove from exposure area to fresh air immediately. Perform
artificial respiration if necessary. Keep person warm and
rested. Treat symptomatically and seek immediate medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse eyes immediately with copious quantities of water or
normal saline solution, occasionally lifting upper and lower
lids, until no evidence of the substance remains (at least
15-20 minutes). Seek immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash
affected area with mild detergent and copious amounts of
water until no evidence of the substance remains (at least
15-20 minutes). Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: Oxides of carbon and iron

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Firefighters should be equipped with self-contained
breathing apparatus and full fire fighting protective
clothing for fighting chemical fires.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity. Wear eye
protection (eg goggles), chemical resistant gloves,
protective clothing (eg an impervious apron)and a dust mask
conforming to standard EN 149 FFP1.

Avoid release to drains.

Absorb spillages with a suitable inert material (eg sand or
soil). Transfer the spillage to waste containers labelled in
the same way as the original containers. Clean the spillage
area with water and detergent.

Handling and storage

Handling: The test substance should be handled under conditions of
good industrial hygiene and in conformity with any local
regulations in order to avoid unnecessary exposure.

Engineering controls such as LEV are recommended to reduce
exposure to the substance.

The use of a dustmask to a minimum standard of EN149 FFP is
recommended. Eye protection and protective clothing,
including protective gloves to a Standard EN374 should be
worn.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Keep containers
away from heat, steam pipes or sunlight. Keep containers

upright and tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Toner containing 2 wt% Bontron X-12 will package in

5kg plastic bags contained in cardboard boxes.
