Additional information

EDTMP salts will fully dissociate in aqueous solution at concentrations relevant for environmental assessment, and will behave no differently to the parent EDTMP acid and its counter ions at equivalent concentrations. It is not expected that the counter ions (H+, Na+and Ca2 +) will contribute significantly to the overall toxicity of the substance. Therefore, the impact on aquatic, sediment and terrestrial organisms will be dominated by the affects of EDTMP acid and the environmental hazard assessment will be based on the acid form of the substances part of this category. 

Conclusion on classification

The substance is not classified for the environment according to Regulation 1272/2008/EC because short-term toxicity data report EC/LC50 values >100 mg/L and even though the substance is not readily biodegradable, the log Kow of the substance is -4.1.
