no ignition within 5 minutes
Key result
Test procedure:
effect on filter paper
Remarks on result:
no charring
Interpretation of results:
other: not classified based on CLP or GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The substance has no pyrophoric properties.
Executive summary:

In a GLP study according to EC.A13, the substance was determined to have no pyrophoric properties.

Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance does not contain metals or metalloids and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information

Description of key information

No pyrophoric properties (EC A.13).

Not highly flammable in contact with water (based on structural features).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification or non-classification according to CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008:

-Since the flash point is > 60°C, no classification is required for the CLP hazard 'Flammable liquid'.

-No classification is required for the CLP hazard 'Pyrophoric liquids'.

-No classification is required for the CLP hazard "Substances which in contact with water emits flammable gases'.

-Due to its high auto-igntion temperature and because the substance is not a liquid adsorbed onto a large solid, no classification is required for the CLP hazard 'self-heating'.
